Lois has been the principal of the Bernard & Alice Selevan Religious School at the Jacksonville Jewish Center since 2002. She began her journey in Jewish education at Beth Shalom Congregation (Jacksonville) in 1990, first as a teacher and then as the Religious School’s director from 1995-2001. She has a degree in Secondary Education, but continued her education to focus on learning disabilities in elementary education. She has been married to Bob Tompkins for 27 years, and is the proud mother of two sons, Ben and Alec. Lois loves to teach – but gets the most enjoyment when she is learning along with other students!
